Most dental implants are carried out over a 2-step process, with first appointment being the placement of the titanium screw (abutment) into the jaw. The second subsequent up appointment, usually 3-6 months later, will be to place the crown on top of the titanium abutment.

Dr. Jason also works closely with our local prosthetist to care for older patients that struggle to keep their full and/or partial dentures in the mouth due to lack of bone present. Dr. Claire was one of the first general dentist to take up the use of this technology since 2019 and has greatly increased our patient compliance and reduced the amount of face-to-face appointments required. Contrary to the common belief that you “cannot start orthodontic treatment until patient has all their adult teeth”, timing is crucial for orthodontic treatment. Our youngest patient started treatment around 7 years of age and our oldest patient treated by Dr. Claire was 72 at the beginning of treatment. We strongly recommend parents to bring their children for consultation when they still have some baby teeth, so we can plan for the best timing of treatment to avoid unnecessary teeth removal.

Snoring in children can be an indication of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Regular snoring/audible breathing during sleep for children can be a sign of airway obstruction. This may be due to inability to breathe through their nose due to congestion and/or allergies, as well as enlarged tonsils/adenoids causing decreased air flow. Severe SDB can result in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) which raises serious health concerns especially in children. Common symptoms include daytime sleepiness, bedwetting, difficulty concentrating or learning, diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
